California Rep. Ro Khanna is spending some of his August in the Midwest, rather than at home in the Silicon Valley. At a New Castle, Indiana steel company, he met with the CEO and other mgmt staff. In similar meetings across his three state tour — Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa, Khanna has slammed home a work list, “Make more stuff here. ” He’s road-testing a message — pin-pointing a work list that needs to be done, and matches recent research on the needs of factory towns and the need to create more jobs all across America.
“Build our productive capacity. Buy American,” says Khanna.
