Could a CA Power Line Change the American West?

As we face the challenges of mitigating climate change, we will need to produce electricity with new technologies and more of it.  More difficult than building electric vehicles and their charging stations, the challenge will be to transmit electricity hundreds of miles from where it will be produced to where it will be consumed, broadly speaking, from rural to urban areas.  Transmission lines will need to go through multiple jurisdictions—some of which may oppose them on political grounds, and perhaps through the lands of hundreds of owners.  Here’s a vignette of a green battle of the future.
