Republicans on the Border — All Hat, No Cattle

By February 7, 2024No Comments

Tuesday, Feb.7.  — “BIG HAT” Republicans rebelled when presented with a substantial bill intended to solve the immigration problems.  Senator James Langford (R-Oklahoma) had worked diligently with all stakeholders and came up with a bill full of solutions — not just a “BIG HAT” but SERIOUS SOLUTIONS.

But “BIG HAT” Republicans refused to read the bill before they started saying NO.  “BIG HATS” get us nowhere.  It is SOLUTIONS, i.e., the “cattle,” that solve problems.  Elected officials who say NO are only playing politics … hideous politics.

Texas Governor Abbott, another “BIG HAT ” Republican,  got his concertina wire rolled out and wants the Texas National Guard to roll out more.  The Supreme Court has ordered the wire taken down.

Eagle Pass school kids want their park back.  Their school’s track “runners” need to train for upcoming intra-school contests and have lost their running track when the Guard rolled in.

The citizens of Eagle Pass say they want their town back.  Abbott (and likely “BIG HAT” Trump) gathered 50 trucks and right-wing, militant gun-toting thugs — all BIG HATS from out of state, to come in to “protect” Eagle Pass.  The good news is that Abbott and his thugs were claiming there would be 500 trucks full of thugs, but no … only about 50 came.  The bad part is that Eagle Pass citizens are now afraid to shop and go to the grocery store, with all these strangers toting guns interrupting their town.

State Representative Eddie Morales said, “I joined CNN to discuss that we have spent over $10 billion in taxpayer dollars, and nothing has improved.  The truth is that the seizing and militarization of Shelby Park is just a political stunt.  The border is wide open a mile north and south of the park.”    (Eagle Pass News Leader)
