BIG LOSS for Appellant Donald J. Trump

By February 7, 2024No Comments

TODAY, the United States Court of Appeals in Washington ruled that Donald J. Trump is a citizen, not a “king,” so the U.S. Constitution and its Rule of Law duly apply to Trump just like it does to any other citizen.  Having been elected and served as president will not protect him.

For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant,” the judges wrote. “But any executive immunity that may have protected him while president no longer protects him against this prosecution.”

“More broadly, Tuesday’s ruling enshrines a core principle germane to the founding of the United States — the president is not a monarch ruling supreme — despite Trump’s claims that as a past and possible future president, he’d be above the law.”
