The Beginning of High Speed Rail in the U.S.

By December 9, 2023No Comments

The U.S. lost … some would say squandered … passenger rail services nationwide in the 1960s.  Now, thanks to President Biden’s vision and leadership and the many Members of Congress who voted for the Infrastructure Bill, the U.S. has the opportunity to play catch-up — building new High-Speed Rail infrastructure and planning for high-speed rail nationwide.

“If you’ve ever seen the standard of passenger rail service in Japan or Germany … and come home and said, ‘Why can’t we have these nice things?’ This is the beginning of the answer to that,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said. “Help is on the way to make sure Americans have access to just as good rail service or better.”
