Although My Rural America shared the Presidential Proclamation of National Ag Day earlier, there is a continuing need to emphasize how President Biden’s message specifically pointed to the National Farmers Union’s (NFU) “Fairness for Farmers” priorities.
In the proclamation, President Biden said, “Corporate consolidation has reduced what small producers can get in exchange for their crops and livestock, lowering farmer incomes and workers’ paychecks. Too many feel forced to give up farms that their families spent generations growing. A lack of competition has distorted the market.“
We applaud the President for his commitment, and we also applaud NFU for their work. We hope you watch their progress as we fight for fairness for rural America while rural America works to feed the world.
