Surprise? Counting ballots by hand isn’t a piece of cake

By October 28, 2022No Comments

We quote: “Rural county’s hand count all of ballots, (is) a result of conspiracy theories and complaints, is going slowly and has problems.”  Nye County, NV, has about 50,000 people … we’re wondering how long it will take to count the ballots of Nye’s voters.

People got confused about the 2020 election because Trump’s ballot counts were reported early, but statewide totals and absentee ballot counting take longer to report.  So in some locations, people went to bed thinking Trump had won, but the grand totals of rural, small towns and cities together added up to statewide totals didn’t come in until morning. Of course, there were other reasons, too, including spoil sport election deniers who did not accept validated totals.

It seems that Nye County got pretty disgusted with the criticisms, so they promised to count by hand this time.  Now the chickens have come home to roost — counting ballots by hand is not easy.
