Of course, these bills stir controversy, but the bills seem to be steps in the right direction. The Hard Right continues to want guns everywhere, but most people want their children protected; it’s impossible to do that when guns proliferate from every direction. Republicans have narrowed the safe places from the larger number in the original bill, but now the Hard Right wants more guns, not less.
