A week ago, Speaker McCarthy declared that the House would try to force the Senate and President Biden to accept a budget that creates a fast-tracked, closed-door commission that cuts Social Security and Medicare while cutting $2 Trillion from Medicaid. $2 Trillion in cuts is the down payment that proceeds the cuts in Social Security and Medicare. Originally, it was hard to believe Republican leadership would commit to such drastic cuts, but now, in less than 12 hours, there will only be five days to go before Republicans rush off the cliff to shut down the government as they seek to hold us all hostage until they succeed in creating this commission to be dedicated to slashing benefits we all have paid for.
