Increases in homeschooling and private schools are the new trend, and it isn’t going well for the kids since most state laws aren’t requiring standards. At the same time, governors like in Iowa and Virginia are dumping money into these private schooling efforts. There was a day when parents wanted their kids to learn more, but this move to private schooling is fueled by parents who want their kids to learn less … dumbed-down lessons, opposition to science, and absolutely no critical thinking skills allowed.
