Biden pardoned two turkeys today. Their names are Chocolate and Chip. Reportedly, they said GOBBLE! GOBBLE! as they thanked him, but Commander, Biden’s German Shepherd who had to watch from the balcony, really wanted to be there and let the turkeys know it periodically with a “commanding” WOLF!!
The National Turkey Federation (NTF) presented the turkeys to President Biden. According to The Hagstrom Report, NTF has presented the president of the United States a turkey since 1947 when President Harry Truman was in office. However, President George H.W. Bush established the practice of pardoning turkeys.
