Rep. Matt Cartright’s congressional district is also President Biden’s stomping grounds — Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and the Poconos. Like always, it is one of those difficult-to-understand places where city people sometimes say that the primarily rural people who live there vote against their interests. But Rep. Matt Cartright is the kind of guy who delivers daily for his constituents and has five terms under his belt as proof that he never forgets. He’s solidly pro-choice, supports the ban on Congress’ trading stocks, and strongly opposes the Right’s continuing efforts to make it tougher for people to vote. Matt is a proud progressive whose district was won by Trump but who votes for the real needs of his voters, e.g., infrastructure, cheaper health care, bringing back the jobs for factory towns. It’s a tangible record to take pride in.
