Bob Anderson

Bob Anderson has represented wineries and growers on land use, water, and ecological issues affecting their business interests in Sonoma County, California for three decades. He served for two terms as Chair of the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. Since 1990, he has been a director of the Open Space Fiscal Oversight Commission, where he reviews expenditures related to a sales tax dedicated to protecting Sonoma County agriculture and natural resources. He attended the United Nations Climate Summit in Copenhagen and is involved in local efforts to advance the transition to a clean energy economy. Prior to coming to Sonoma County, Anderson worked in Washington, D.C. as a staff member to the House Agriculture Committee. He was assigned to work for Chairman Tom Harkin and also served as Congressman Tim Penny’s Legislative Director. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration and a master’s degree in family relations from Iowa State University and the University of Connecticut, respectively. Anderson was raised on a dairy farm in northwest Iowa and currently lives in Healdsburg, California.
