In summary, in five days, the new Republican majority will be sworn in. So far, they have agreed upon a Speaker, and the new Republican “kids” on the block have been demanding that all the bills already agreed upon and signed into law should be argued over again. The excellent news: bipartisan agreement on the Omnibus Bill, i.e., enough Democrats and Republicans voted together to fund the legislation they had already agreed upon, has now resulted in President Biden signing the bill. See Republicans in the House and the Senate who voted for the Omnibus bill. Pelosi, Schumer, and McConnell deserve credit for their leadership on this achievement.
