Sometimes there simply are no words for unacceptable, but I am outraged:
We are saddened, worried, and outraged for Paul Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s husband, who was attacked when a man broke into their house early this morning. The man — the suspect now arrested, was looking for Nancy, beat up Paul (who fought back), and apparently intended to take Paul hostage until Nancy could arrive. The result for Paul was a cracked scull and injuries to his arm and hands. All required surgery.
The San Francisco Police Chief William Scott has said, “Everyone should be disgusted.”
“This was not a random act. This was intentional. And it is wrong,” Scott told reporters at a news conference. “Our elected officials are here to do the business of their cities, their counties, their states, and this nation. Their families don’t sign up for this, to be harmed. And it is wrong. And everybody should be disgusted about what happened this morning.”
The alleged suspect, David DePaper, now in jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, attempted homicide, and more. appears to be another right-wing extremist conspiracy believer who posted memes and shared videos from Trump’s “My Pillow” ally.
In a sane world, none of this should have happened. But it did. And FOX “news” covered the situation by saying the attack on Pelosi was evidence of a huge crime wave. The assault was deliberate and targeted by a Republican “true believer” of the Trump conspiracies fanned on the Internet by election deniers, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon, and Trump himself.
