Goodbye, Kelly Loeffler. We hardly knew you. President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Brooke Rollins for the position of Secretary of Agriculture.
She is America First Policy Institute’s (AFPI) chief executive. AFPI states its policies exist:
“to advance policies that put the American people first. Our guiding principles are liberty, free enterprise, national greatness, American military superiority, foreign-policy engagement in the American interest, and the primacy of American workers, families, and communities in all we do.”
During the first Trump Administration, she served as director of the Office of American Innovation and acting director of the Domestic Policy Council. Originally from Glen Rose, Texas, her high school experience included belonging to the Future Farmers of America and 4-H. She studied agriculture development at Texas A&M.
Should Rollins and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. both be confirmed—she for USDA and he for HHS—they can be expected to work together on food policy.
