Gov. Tim Walz: A Great Fit for Rural America

By August 3, 2024No Comments

Could Tim Walz go from teaching history to being part of it?

Every rural American should urge, shout, and advise VP Kamala Harris to pick Governor Walz as her Vice President. He is already rumored to be Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s pick.

Walz grew up in Nebraska, graduated from a high school class of 25, served in the National Guard for 24 years, taught Social Studies to high school kids who loved him, and ran for Congress in a rural, tough Republican Minnesota district and won.  After 10 years of re-election wins, Walz ran for governor.  Now, he serves his second term and is considered one of the top two candidates Harris is choosing from among the big six candidates.

In Minnesota, he is described as “the sort of all things to all people in the best way possible.” For example, as a high school teacher, he coached football, served as Mankato West High School’s first faculty adviser for the newly formed gay-straight alliance, and was named “Most Inspiring.”

Today, as Minnesota’s governor, Walz drinks Diet Mountain Dew just like J.D. Vance does, and whether Walz is picked for VP or not, he promises, ” I don’t know where I end up in this, but I can tell you that for the next 98 days, I”m going to be on him like nobody’s business.

Vance should be scared.  We predict that in a contest between Yallie Vance and Walz, who has degrees from Chadron State College and Minnesota State University, Mankato, Tim Walz will win in a walk!
