January always brings a myriad of ends and beginnings. For My Rural America, we took a break—yes, a break! Such breaks do not often happen on this website, so we will return to sharing hard news tomorrow.
A new president has been sworn in, but the issues remain the same. Among them are the rural economy and the long-delayed Farm Bill; health care—closing hospitals and rising costs; public education; immigrant workers who rural America’s meat and other food plants depend upon to keep our food industry vigorous; and the necessity of a strong America—a “strong America” that relies on our allies, all of us working together.
