The following was reported by Jerry Hagstrom, author of The Hagstrom Report:
“The House met today at 6:05 p.m., adjourned at 6:07 p.m. and said it would come back into session on Tuesday at noon.
“If the House goes into session and stays in session, it’s expected there be an election for Speaker.”
“Rep. Jim Jordan, R-OH, made progression winning over some House members in his quest for the speakership, but it’s still unclear whether he can garner the 217 votes he needs to win, CNN reported.”
MY RURAL AMERICA’S outlook: Republicans are still in disarray. Jordan’s strategy for convincing Members is to bombard them with calls and pressure from Trump supporters. Jordan has never voted for a Farm Bill, so rural America has a lot at stake in this vote.
