Inforwars host Alex Jones has already lost a series of defamation cases related to his coverage of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Now, a Texas court will decide the dollar cost of his lies. Among others, the questions the court will consider are:
- When do lies hurt individuals?
- What is the cost of lying?
- Do liars have to pay?
Six-year-old Jesse Lewis was one of the victims of the shooting. Alex Jones said over and over on his broadcast that the mass shooting did not happen. He believes it was a false flag operation staged by the US government in order to further gun control legislation.
A result of Jones’s lies, Jesse’s parents – Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis – faced years of harassment from Jones and his followers. The parents firmly believe, “Speech is free, but lies you have to pay for.”
