Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema left Washington unhappy this week. Three things are for sure:
- She wants changes in the Manchin-Schumer deal.
- She is one of the private equity industry’s darlings (so we know she doesn’t like the $14 billion tax deal that would tax carried interest).
- She does not like New York Senator Chuck Schumer.
If Senator Sinema kills Democrats’ best chance in recent memory to pass meaningful climate legislation, she very well could face a tough primary against well-liked progressive challenger Rep. Ruben Gallego.
