Thanks to phone records, we know that former vice president Mike Pence and his aides feared for their lives while stranded in a Capitol parking garage on January 6th. With their key cards deactivated, they believed threats from insurrectionists were life-threatening and made calls to their families to say goodbye.
It also appears that Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley and/or Grassley’s office were given information in advance to January 6 that suggested a possible insurrection. The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general also ostensibly knew about missing Secret Service records for months before disclosing this information to the January 6th Select Committee.
