In Gainesville, Florida, Buchholz High School math teacher and math coach Will Frazer says the key to his school’s many victories has been teamwork and students teaching students.
In this year’s competition, BHS finished in first place, amassing 7,157 total points. But fellow finalist American Heritage-Broward gave Buchholz a run for their money, ending with a score of 6,964 points. The contest tests students’ knowledge of advanced math topics, such as analytic geometry, open probability and combinatorics, calculus, and logarithms and exponents.
